As Director of Business Development, Kyle is responsible for working with US-based and international companies that are planning to relocate or expand in Chicago. Since joining the organization in 2013, Kyle has spearheaded efforts to increase the organization’s outreach efforts to identify new leads for expansion in Chicago. He has also been involved in a number of the organization’s technology sector initiatives, which have included Data Center Express, a concierge service for data center companies, as well as efforts with Mayor Rahm Emanuel to promote the City as a destination for E-Commerce businesses.
Prior to joining World Business Chicago, Kyle was Vice Consul, Trade & Investment Officer for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) at the British Consulate-General in Miami, Florida. There he was responsible for assisting British companies interested in the US-market, and also supporting FDI projects from the Southeast USA to the United Kingdom. Notable successes in those areas included support for US-based businesses interested in tapping into London 2012 Olympic Games business opportunities, as well as advising British firms in the infrastructure sector (construction and finance) that were interested in Public Private Partnership opportunities in the USA. In addition, Kyle pioneered UK Trade & Investment’s social media efforts and received an award for “Innovative Lead Generation Activity” from the organization in 2009. His social media expertise was utilized in 2012 when he participated in a small team tasked with increasing UKTI’s global brand awareness and raising the profile of East London’s tech cluster called Tech City or “Silicon Roundabout.”
Born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, Kyle knows first-hand about what attracts people to live and work in Chicago. He attended college here and received a B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University.
