Leroy R. Allala is executive vice president of World Business Chicago and executive director of Chicago Sister Cities International, a division of World Business Chicago. Chaired by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, World Business Chicago drives regional economic growth and job creation, supports business, and promotes Chicago as a leading global city.
Mr. Allala’s area of expertise is in corporate, international and governmental relations and program management. He is a member of the senior management team at World Business Chicago and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Chicago Sister Cities International’s business including board management, committee and program development, communications and finance.
From 1994 to 2008, Mr. Allala served as executive director of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, Mid-America Chapter, a bi-national business association with offices in 17 cities that promote trade and investment in both the United States and Mexico. Based in Chicago, he oversaw all day-to-day operations and was responsible for the organizations expansion to Milwaukee and Detroit.
Mr. Allala previously served as a senior consultant to The Mid-America Committee for International Business and Government Cooperation, Inc., a Chicago based international organization whose membership comprises the CEO’s of multinational corporations. In this position, he successfully managed private events with U.S. and foreign dignitaries.
Mr. Allala earned his B.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is a fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago and serves on several boards including Sister Cities International and the Délice Network.
