As the Vice President of Business Development for World Business Chicago (WBC), Lori works with companies considering a new business location or expansion project in Chicago. From headquarters to manufacturing projects, her role is to guide companies through the site selection process from start to finish by providing market information and data outlining Chicago’s competitive advantages for business, offering advice on sites and government incentive programs, and playing a liaison role to all levels of government.
Prior to joining WBC, Lori worked for the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development as a city planner managing proposed real estate and economic development projects for Chicago’s CBD/the Loop. She reviewed real estate projects totaling tens of millions of square feet of mixed-use projects, and negotiated multi-million dollar incentive proposals for public investment to attract jobs, preserve landmark buildings and create open space. She served on the Chicago Central Area Action Plan task force for land use and economic development planning for Chicago’s central business district.
Lori has a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy with a concentration in economic development from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received a fellowship with the Center for Urban Economic Development. She is also certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council.
