Sean Anderson joined World Business Chicago in April 2016 to strategize and execute communications and public affairs for the organization. He specifically handles messaging, branding, media relations, social media, and stakeholder communications for WBC and its underlying initiatives.
Prior to WBC, Sean worked at Kivvit, a national public affairs and communications firm headquartered in Chicago. He handled media relations, thought leadership, and brand messaging for clients including Google, Forefront, the University of Chicago Medical Center, and the US Olympic Committee.
Sean’s time before Kivvit straddled business and politics. He directed operations for Andrea Zopp’s U.S. Senate campaign, managed marketing for an integrity and compliance consulting firm, and led operations and planning for Loyola University Chicago’s student-run enterprise, Loyola Limited.
Valuing civic engagement and public service, Sean was a 2017 fellow of the New Leaders Council, a national nonprofit that develops the next generation of progressive leaders. He is now on NLC Chicago’s executive board leading the chapter’s communications and messaging. In prior years, Sean was a board director of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform and served two terms on the Illinois Board of Higher Education, officially representing nearly one million students throughout the state.
Sean graduated from Roosevelt University with a BSBA in Business Management. Because his mother passed away before he graduated high school, Sean put himself through college as an independent student but was nonetheless determined to learn political strategy and organizational leadership to effect societal change.
